      Job Title: Credit Controller (Temporary – 6 Months)

      Location: Borehamwood, Hertfordshire

      A growing and national leader in their field, due to a backlog of overdue monies and unallocated cash, is seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join the team for a temporary period of 6 months. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact and contribute to the financial success of our organization.

      As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in clearing the backlog of overdue monies and unallocated cash within our Sales Ledger department. Working alongside a team of approximately 12 professionals, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices and resolving any disputes or issues that may arise.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to recover overdue payments in a professional and diplomatic manner.
      • Monitor and review customer accounts, identifying and resolving payment discrepancies and disputes.
      • Investigate and resolve any unallocated cash issues, ensuring accurate allocation of payments to customer accounts.
      • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collections activities and customer interactions.
      • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as the Sales team, Customer Service, and Finance to resolve payment issues and improve processes.
      • Provide regular reports on the status of collections and outstanding balances to management.

      Qualifications and Skills:

      • Previous experience in credit control or collections, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
      • Strong knowledge of credit control procedures, collection techniques, and relevant legislation.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with customers and internal stakeholders.
      • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills to resolve disputes and issues effectively.
      • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
      • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
      • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
