A fully qualified Financial Controller with a proven track record working within the Media/Creative Agency industry.
We are looking for a qualified Financial Controller for a growing Media Agency based in Central London. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis reporting into the Head of Finance.
As Financial Controller you will be responsible for running the month end process, statutory accounting and assisting with the auditors. On top of this, you will also play a pivotal role with the development and planning of accounting controls and delivering management information.
The role is offered on a hybrid basis with 3 days in the office per week. We are looking for a fully qualified accountant with the gravitas to work within a busy Media agency environment whilst managing 1 direct report.
Key responsibilities:
- Ownership of the month end process including management accounts prep and board pack
- Annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting
- Preparing cash flows
- Production of the annual statutory accounts and internal financial reports
- Ensuring timely processing of fee and expense billings to the clients, WIP management, processing revenue and expense recognition
- Management, compliance and overall responsibility for VAT returns;
- Ownership of the management reporting pack including revenue recognition and the comparison of actual results against play and previous year
- Continually review, challenge, revise and then implement changes to the accounting and Management Information systems to provide maximum insight into company performance
- Management of daily financial operations including management of finance team
- Supporting the HOF with any commercial projects
- Management of daily financial operations including management of finance team;
- Uploading budgets onto Paprika and reconcile production jobs;
- Oversee weekly job profitability reporting;
- Managing an Accounts Assistant and supporting the wider finance team
- Other ad hoc Financial duties
Key skills:
- Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA Accountant
- Experience working within the Media/Creative industry is desired
- Previous experience within regards to revenue recognition and WIP management
- Experience using Paprika would be advantageous
- Previous managerial experience would be beneficial
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment whilst adhering to deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – we are looking for a confident team player with a collaborative work approach
- Comfortable communicating at all levels and delivering management information
- Systems savvy with a strong knowledge of MS Excel
