The Absolute Recruit team are supporting a successful business based in St Albans recruiting for a Financial Reporting Accountant on a contract basis. They would like to bring in someone with strong relevant experience behind them.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role involves leading on Audits, preparing Statutory Accounts including Consolidated Financial Statements and supporting with VAT-related questions.

Although the contract is confirmed for 12 months, there is a strong potential for this project to continue beyond that.

Financial Reporting Accountant responsibilities:

• Leading on external audits and the preparation of statutory accounts.
• Consolidating Financial Accounts.
• Support the group reporting process in line with IFRS.
• Support VAT-related related queries and in the preparation of VAT returns.
• Continuously review and improve processes to drive efficiency..
• Complete the balance sheet reconciliations
• Any ad-hoc work

Key competencies:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified.
• Strong Financial Accounting experience.
• Understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Track record of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Prioritising conflicting tasks and responsibilities.
