Are you a Senior/Lead JavaScript Engineer interested in joining a fintech start-up as the first hire in their technology team?

I am representing a pre-seed funded business who are building a product that will improve the affordability of purchasing a home, making a significant and long-term impact on people’s lives.  They are seeking a Lead JavaScript Engineer who will be responsible for building the business’s MVP which will allow them to automate processes as most of the current platform has been built using low-code/no-code solutions.

As the successful engineer will have autonomy over design and development decisions, including the infrastructure and tools used, the position would suit a Lead JavaScript Engineer, Senior Engineer or Technical Lead. Though this role has very strategic elements and will report directly to the founders, the position is a hands-on development role.

The Lead JavaScript Engineer will have the following attributes:

• Commercial experience working as a Senior/Lead Engineer within a start-up recently (essential).
• Experience working with Node.js and React.js commercially.
• Experience building an MVP from the ground up.
• An appetite to deliver best-fit solutions, regardless of the technology used to do so.
• Experience building scalable applications used by a larger user base.
• A ‘start-up’ mentality, with the willingness to work in a varied role which will range from complex engineering projects to debugging issues with the code.
• Experience working in a fintech business is highly desirable, though not essential.

Due to the collaborative nature of the role where communication with the founders will be paramount, the successful engineer will be required to commute to their Central London office 2-3 days a week.
