Job Title: Head of Finance
Location: North London (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 per annum
We are supporting a well-established North London-based charity, who are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance to join the team.
Role Overview:
Reporting directly to an experienced Finance Director, the Head of Finance will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of the charity. You will oversee the month-end process, produce management accounts, prepare board packs, and lead the budgeting and forecasting activities. You will also manage a small but dedicated finance team, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End Procedures: Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Management Accounts: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, providing insightful analysis to support decision-making.
- Board Packs: Compile and present comprehensive board packs, highlighting key financial metrics and performance indicators.
- Budgets and Forecasts: Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Team Management: Manage and mentor a small finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and charity-specific reporting requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA).
- Significant experience in a similar senior finance role, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
- Proven experience in management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing finance teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
- Highly organised with a keen attention to detail.
- Proactive, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
