Assistant Financial Accountant

Assistant Financial Accountant – Hybrid 1 day per week in the office – Hatfield – £30,000 – £33,500

An impressive charity with a real core passion for helping people within the local community to thrive is looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join their Senior Finance team.

This role will support the Financial Controller in providing a comprehensive financial processing and accounting service as well as acting as a backup to other key members of the finance team.

Main responsibilities for the Assistant Financial Accountant will be:

• Assist with Financial Accounts preparation and ensure integrity of the nominal ledger
• Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Maintenance of the Fixed Asset register
• Preparation of VAT returns
• Preparation of CIS returns
• Assisting both AP & AR as required

  
You will:

• Have previous experience working within the Charity or Housing sector
• Have knowledge of SOP
• Have previous accounting experience
• Be a strong team player and someone who is able to problem solve and look at ways of improving process’
• Possibly be studying towards an accounting qualification
