Key Responsibilities:
- Produce Management Accounts: Prepare detailed management accounts for a group of companies, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with financial regulations.
- Oversee Junior Team Member: Provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to a junior member of the accounting team, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices to streamline accounting operations and improve efficiency.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis to support decision-making processes, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against targets and providing variance analysis.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance.
- Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven experience in a management accounting role, preferably within a group of companies.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor junior team members effectively.
- Analytical: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Process Improvement: Demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing process improvements.
