Absolute Recruit is proud to be exclusively partnering with a leading global firm in sourcing an experienced Systems Engineer (3rd Line) to join their UK IT team. This role offers the unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team supporting and improving IT infrastructure across servers, networking (firewalls), and end-user support.

As a Systems Engineer (3rd Line), you will play a pivotal role in the support and modernisation of the current infrastructure estate. While the company’s ERP system is cloud-based, they maintain an on-premise environment with Hyper-V, Windows Servers, SQL, and Office 365. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day support of this environment, while contributing to long-term technical improvements.

The ideal Systems Engineer (3rd Line) will be technically hands-on and proactive in identifying areas for enhancement. As the company is ISO27001-certified, you will also be expected to have a strong grasp of cyber security, providing guidance to improve security measures. Your responsibilities will also include supporting and monitoring network infrastructure, such as firewalls, switches, and access points (APs).

Key Technical Skills and Experience:

• Hyper-V (or experience with VMware and willingness to transition to Hyper-V)
• Windows Server (2012 to 2022)
• Active Directory management, including Group Policy
• Office 365 administration
• SQL database management (highly desirable)
• Networking – firewalls and access points
